Aug 23, 2005 Just wanted to make sure it was ok to use spray foam around dryer vent pipe. I cannot imagine why this would be a problem, but I would rather know for sure than to find out the hard way.. Just where the pipe goes out of the house, its brick so the hole has a lot of open air. Was planning on spraying foam to fill it up as I slide the pipe through.

It shouldn't be that hot around the vent, after all it's exiting directly through a joist, but obviously regular spray foam just becomes caramel :p. Or maybe it's black because it was already very warm there when the spray foam was applied and it didn't cure properly.
